Seton Hall will return to action on Saturday, March 6 when it begins play at the 2021 BIG EAST Tournament. The third-seeded Pirates will face the sixth-seeded Creighton Bluejays in the quarterfinals. Tip time is scheduled for 9:00 p.m.
The game will be nationally televised on FS2 with John Fanta and Kim Adams on the call. As usual, the game will also be available over the airwaves at 89.5 FM WSOU and at wsou.net. Wilnir Louis and Dalton Allison will describe the action on the radio. Live stats will also be available.
Senior Desiree Elmore (Hartford, Conn.) erupted for a career-high 30 points on the night she reached 1,000 in a Pirate uniform and the Seton Hall women’s basketball team defeated St. John’s, 59-43, in the regular season finale on Monday to clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament.
Elmore, who scored 30 points on an efficient 11-for-16 shooting from the floor, became the 23rd player in program history to reach 1,000 points in a Pirate uniform. She also had nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals again proving her worth as a top BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year candidate.

Senior Desiree Elmore erupted for game-highs of 25 points and 17 rebounds, but Creighton scored with 1.7 seconds left in overtime sending the Seton Hall women’s basketball team to a 77-76 defeat in Walsh Gym on Feb. 13.
With only 18 seconds remaining, Lauren Park-Lane’s driving layup gave the Pirates their first lead of the overtime period, 76-75, but Creighton was able to find Tatum Rembao under the basket for the game-winning score.
Elmore had 25 points, on 11-for-20 shooting, and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Park-Lane had 19 points and a career-high nine assists. A third Pirate, Mya Jackson, also reached double-figures, scoring 15 points.
Creighton is coming off a strong 2019-20 season, which included a 19-11 overall record and an 11-7 mark in BIG EAST play. The Bluejays’ season came to an end with a 70-54 loss to St. John’s in the BIG EAST Tournament quarterfinals.
This season, Creighton was picked to finish fifth in the 11-team BIG EAST Conference according to the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll. The Bluejays finished one point ahead of Seton Hall in the poll for fifth place.
Creighton finished up the 2020-21 regular season with an overall record of 7-10 and a 6-7 mark in BIG EAST play. Since defeating the Pirates in overtime on Feb. 13, the Bluejays have gone 2-2, completing the regular season with losses at Marquette and at home against Connecticut.
The Bluejays advanced to the semifinals with a 56-42 over No. 11 Georgetown in the opening round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Friday.
If Seton Hall defeats Creighton, it will face the winner of the game between second-seeded Marquette and seventh-seeded Providence in the semifinals on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. The contest will be televised nationally on FS1. The game will also be available on the radio at 89.5 FM WSOU or wsou.net.
If the Pirates fall to Creighton, they will be eliminated from the BIG EAST Tournament and will await their post-season fate on NCAA Selection Monday, March 15.
